Альбом Elephunk (2003г.) был крупным достижением для Black Eyed Peas и был распродан в тираже 7,5 миллионов штук, был наминирован в трёх категориях и получил премию Грэмми. Альбом был настолько пропитан духом настоящего хип-хопа, что получил положительные отзывы от любителей хип-хопа всех возрастных категорий.

Альбом Elephunk действительно вывел группу на свет и был коронован как принц, в то время как 4-й альбом группы (Monkey Business) провозгласил их королями. Этот альбом усилил страсть создавать новую музыку и притянул к Black Eyed Peas невероятное число поклонников. Давать счастье поклонникам - это и есть кредо группы сформированное задолго до появления Black Eyed Peas, ещё в 90-х годах в Лос Анджелесе. Однако даже в то время группа обладала магнитным духом, который помог им реализовать их первые альбомы Behind The Front (1998г.) и Bridging The Gap (2000г.)

В любом случае альбом Monkey Business - прямой потомок его предшественника. Успех Elephunk держался 18 месяцев. За это время группа успела объехать почти весь мир. "В таком длительном путешествии у нас появились новые идеи какого рода музыку мы хотим создавать и исполнять. Альбом Monkey Business в большей части о том, как мы мотаемся по миру и исполняем наши песни вживую, о заряженных энергией вечеринках и просто о нас" - рассказывает William.

Альбом Monkey Business появился на свет во время разъездов группы. William рассказал нам об этом немного подробнее: "Когда мы были в Бразилии, я зашел в один музыкальный магазинчик в котором услышал интересную запись Дика Дэйла - Miserlou. Сначала я не обратил на неё никакого внимания, однако после некоторых прослушиваний понял что песня действительно обжигающая. Тогда я понял, мы должны написать песню такую же как эта. Страстную, горячую, обжигающую слух. Я включил компьютер и сделал несколько сэмплов пока мы ехали в поезде. После этого мы должны были лететь в Токио. В самолете я скомпоновал эти сэмплы в единую композицию, а саму песню мы записали в одном из парков Токио. Так и появилась на свет композиция Pump It."

Песни с альбома Monkey Business стали гимнами на дискотеках всего мира и считались лучшей покупкой. "Вся предесть современных технологий заключается в том, что ты можешь записывать песни и сочинять музыку в любом месте, в любое время, и эти песни действительно хорошие. В отличии от студийных записей, в таких песнях присутствует энергия и настроение. А если к этому всему добавить неотразимые вокальные данные Fergie (солистки Black Eyed Peas), то песня просто не может остаться безуспешной".
